TRANSFORMING
CARE
We are transforming healthcare all across America with our unique approach to primary care.
We’re expanding health equity, serving neighborhoods that have been forgotten and left behind. Mission-driven and physician-led, we honor seniors with affordable VIP care that delivers better health. And it works. Our patients experience 50% fewer hospitalizations and 35% fewer emergency room visits.
We see 80% fewer patients than the typical primary care provider, so we have more time with our patients. We listen, get to know them, we get to know their families. We understand their concerns. They can see us when they want. We even give them our cell phone numbers. We want to see our patients often — even when they’re well.

Dr. Chris Chen, CEO
We believe the doctor-patient relationship is sacred.

We love seniors like no one else. And, they love us, too.

When you transform one life — one person — you transform families.
Here’s what Oscar — our patient of more than 30 years — has to say.
We’re restoring the doctor-patient relationship. By seeing far fewer patients than your typical primary care provider, we can take time to really get to know our patients, to listen, to understand their concerns — and it works.

America’s
Workplaces 2022
Most Loved
We’re honored to have been named by Newsweek as one of America’s Most Loved Workplaces for the second year in a row.
Of course, it’s no surprise to the nearly 6,000 people who work every day, with a singular mission, a powerful purpose and a collaborative spirit all fueled by love, passion and accountability.
We love our work. We love our people. And we love those we honor and serve: seniors. And it shows.
We Love Working Here
This year, we’ve been honored and recognized by a variety of organizations and awards for the work we do and the way we do it. We are humbled and grateful and it is our hope that through this recognition, that we might inspire others to see that we can make a difference. One by one. Together.
Celebrating Diversity
By living out our values, ChenMed strives to eliminate disparities and racial inequities in healthcare. We do this by fostering a culture of inclusion, celebrating the diversity of our team members, investing in workforce equity, creating an inclusive patient experience, and making a difference in the communities we serve.
We are over 6,000 strong — some of the best and the brightest people in healthcare today, working together to create health equity and to transform a broken healthcare system.
We are a very diverse family and we celebrate that. We’re tightly-knit together by our shared values of love and passion and accountability.
We encourage each other to bring our unique experiences, our special expertise, our authentic selves to work every day as we serve our seniors. And each other.

TRANSFORMING
COMMUNITIES
When you transform one life. One person. You transform families.
We try to be a beacon of hope. Of light. For our seniors. For each other. And for those around us.
We work in neighborhoods that big healthcare companies have abandoned. We serve the neediest populations — we believe in people others have given up on.
By bringing quality healthcare to those who have rarely — if ever — had it, we help people live healthier, happier lives.
This year, our employees found additional opportunities to volunteer and serve those around us that could use a helping hand, a warm smile — someone that believes in them.

Serve all.
Give all.
Love all.
Our spirit of service drives us every day at work — and beyond.
Our team members generously give their time, their talent and their treasure to lift up those around us in need. From international and domestic mission trips to disaster relief efforts around the country, our team members rose up and answered the call.
Here are just a few of those stories.

We literally change people’s lives every day. It’s incredible to see. To be a part of.

Serving and Giving September
Transformation goes beyond the four walls of our medical centers. As a vital part of the communities we serve, we make it a priority to give back to the cities in which we operate. During Serving & Giving September, all ChenMed team members go out into the community to volunteer their time to support grassroots organizations, like food banks, shelters, churches, and more.
Hurricane Ian Relief Efforts
Our team came together in support
The deadliest hurricane to strike Florida in nearly a century, Hurricane Ian caused catastrophic damage, widespread flooding and left millions without power. We immediately went to work to ensure the safety of our team members and patients. We worked around the clock to keep our centers running and to reopen those temporarily closed by the storm. And we came together as people, providing food and water and shelter to those in the community needing assistance.

Distributed Essentials to the Community

For several years, the Chen family has hosted international mission trips through Nica Medical Missions, where our physicians and clinical team members travel to Nicaragua to provide hope and healing to local community members. For the first time, in 2022, ChenMed hosted its first domestic mission trip. Team members traveled to Immokalee, FL to serve the state’s largest migrant farm workforce along with their families and residents of the city. ChenMed partnered with multiple organizations to host a health fair and food distribution.

Multiple generations of the Chen family have graduated from the University of Miami and the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. And like the Miller School, the Chens have had a longstanding passion for reducing health disparities and improving the lives of residents in the most medically underserved communities.
The Chen Family Foundation is looking to expand that shared mission even further by donating $3 million to advance research through the Chen Family Endowed Chair to Advance Primary Care and Health Equity Research.
The Chen Family Endowed Chair to Advance Primary Care and Health Equity Research will enable the Miller School's Department of Medicine to recruit a leader with extensive experience in primary and population healthcare that will allow UM to become the leader in primary care and medicine among academic institutions.
Once aboard, that expert will be tasked with researching and improving the way primary care, and health equity, is delivered throughout South Florida.

The foresight, leadership, and dedication of Dr. Chris Chen and his family will propel the University forward in our pursuit of health equity. We are incredibly appreciative of their generosity and partnership.
